Job Description:
Part-time Description Incorporated in 1955 and encompassing more
than 454 acres, the Mt. Prospect Park District provides outstanding
recreational programs, events, parks, facilities and services. With
seven primary facilities and 27 neighborhood parks, the Park
District is an integral part of a thriving multi-generational
community. District open space includes two outdoor pools, biking
and walking paths, a dog park and sizable space for outdoor
athletic programming. The District covers over 11 square miles and
serves a region of over a quarter million residents in Mount
Prospect and surrounding communities. The Mt. Prospect Park

Recreation Association Exceptional Workplace Award! We are
searching for a part-time seasonal Golf Course Greensperson to
complete the physical tasks required to produce and maintain a golf
course. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and be able to
successfully pass a criminal background check. Daytime, evening,
weekend, and holiday hours are required for this position. The
position runs from May through August. The starting pay for the PT
Golf Course Greensperson is $15.50 per hour. Plus, we offer park

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform all physical tasks in golf course
maintenance, including but not limited to: mowing trimming change
putting green cups tee service rake bunkers prune trees and bushes
topdressing operate landscaping equipment landscaping tasks
Participate in the Park District’s Safety Training programs. Be
familiar with and abide by Park District policies and procedures.
Be available to work during the week and on the weekend. SECONDARY
DUTIES: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform
additional duties as assigned which may be considered essential.
All other duties as required by the Golf Course Maintenance Crew
Leader, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, Golf Course
Superintendent, Director of Golf Operations, and/or Executive
Director. However, in an emergency, perform all other duties as
required. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years old. Must
possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or any equivalent
combination of experience and training which provides the required
knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be able to communicate
effectively with others to allow for coordination of work, safety
and in emergency situations. Must be able to follow required
department safety procedures. Must be able to participate in the
Park District safety training program and adhere to Park District
safety procedures. Must be dependable and able to work with limited
supervision. Must be able to work during the week and on the
weekend. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function
of the Golf Course Maintenance Greensperson position. Physical Job
Qualifications: Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods
of time. Must be physically able to frequently ascend/descend more
than a 25% grade, lift 50 pounds from a squat position.
Additionally, must be able to push/pull, reach, occasionally
balance, bend at waist (touch the floor with fingertips), climb,
crawl, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time, and sit, stoop
and constantly handle objects. The Golf Course Maintenance
Greensperson will work indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to
hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment that could result
in cuts, bruises, or minor burns. May be exposed to sounds and
noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. May be exposed
to outdoor conditions including water, sun, high humidity, and
excessive heat and cold. Due to the needs of the Park District,
daytime, evening, weekend and holiday hours will be required. Your
work schedule may vary and your workweek may exceed 40 hours per
week at times, but will be strictly less than 1,000 hours per year.
