Program Summary:The Corporate Internship Program at Great Wolf
is a 10-week program that provides college students with paid,
meaningful experience that compliments their current coursework.
Through an experiential and structured approach to learning,
interns will gain hands-on experience with real-life work that is
tied to the success of the team and Great Wolfs purpose of Bringing
Joy to Families. In addition to meaningful assignments and working
in a supportive business environment, students will be invited to
participate in professional development opportunities, social
activities to get to know fellow Pack Members and build
relationships across other departments, and more. Students can
expect regular mentorship and feedback to help develop the skills
and experience that will position them to grow in their career area
of choice.Job Summary:The Accounting Internship is based out of
Great Wolf Lodges headquarters located in Chicago, IL. This role
will be part of the Accounting team with responsibilities that
include participating in the month end close and related
transaction processing, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of
financial statement accounts, and performing reconciliations of
general ledger accounts. This is an opportunity to learn alongside

work experience!Experiences You Will Gain / Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure proper cut-off and accounting for assigned accounts
- Prepare financial statements and schedules for internal
reporting
- Actively participate in the continuous development and
strengthening of internal controls
- Assist with updating documentation for policies and
procedures
- Utilize computer applications to compile, retrieve and
summarize accounting information for analyses and reporting
purposes
- Review compliance or coordinate accounting matters with other
departments and locations as necessary
- Vendor invoice processing - distribution for approval, matching
to purchase orders, verification of account coding, review for
sales and use tax compliance, entry into AP system
- Assist in accounting research of non-recurring or technically
complex accounting topics
- Complete ad hoc projects, reporting, and analysis, as
requestedRequirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Accounting and analytical background
- Attention to detail - able to complete tasks with high level of
accuracy
- Able to learn and support developing information for financial
statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel - macros, v-lookups, and pivot
tables
- High level of organization and ability to manage to
deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work
collaboratively with other team membersAbout the Great Wolf
