JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Supervisor, performs select clinical functions to enhance delivery of patient care. Prepare patients for physical examination, obtain specimens, conduct select routine laboratory tests and records results, routine diagnostic tests and may perform phlebotomy. Under general supervision of a physician, administer selected medications/injections. Also performs clerical duties related to clinic operations. Hours: Full time 40 hours per week. Flexibility is needed to work variable hours Monday-Friday. Evening hours vary by location. Saturdays 8:30am-1:30pm, and this position requires that you work 1 to 2 Saturdays per month. Offices are closed on the 6 major holidays. This position is eligible for benefits. Flexibility required with an understanding physician schedule can run behind. Location: Oak Park: 1100 Lake St, Suite 230Office: Family Medicine has 12 physicians in 7 different locations. Most physicians see patients at multiple locations; 3 Elmhurst offices, Addison, Oak Park and Lombard. Newly hired Medical Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants and Registered Medical Assistants will receive a $1000 bonus (grossed up). The first $500 will be paid at your 6 month mark of employment and the remaining $500 will be paid at the end of one year. This bonus does not apply to internal employees transferring within departments.We will consider experienced Medical Assistants (MA), Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) and Registered Medical Assistants (RMA) and Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA).Position Requirements include:High school diploma or GEDCertified, Registered, and Clinical Certified Medical Assistants (CMA , RMA or CCMA) are required to provide current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or any other certifying agency and should have at least 6 months of clinical experience. Candidates who are not certified or registered should have at least one year of clinical experience.Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red CrossA valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location.
