Job Description:
The Development Coordinator works in all areas of the department
including funding support, events, grants, philanthropic research,
donor base management, and solicitation. Involved with planning and
strategy for development and membership activities and initiatives.
Coordination of Trust Wright Plus house walk and Wright Night
benefit event, including planning, logistics, volunteer
communications, and event evaluation in collaboration with
others.DUTIES:1. Work with Trust development staff, communications
department, guest services, retail, facilities team and volunteer
co-chairs to effectively coordinate and execute annual Wright Plus
spring house walk. Ensure timely completion of all necessary
advance arrangements and logistics to ensure smooth operation of
the day. Attend strategy meetings with key staff members and
volunteer leadership.2. Working with other development staff, plan
and coordinate Wright Night, the Trust s December annual benefit
event, including invitation list, catering and set up, silent
auction, and event execution.3. Assist with securing sponsorships,
gifts, and grants in support of Trust programs and operations.
Identify potential support agencies through on-line research.
Participate in relationship building to expand funding support.4.
Collaborate with department staff on a variety of activities
including, membership mailings and renewals, member events, and
other membership initiatives.5. Work to strengthen departmental
donor and member management through database efficiency. Conduct
research and develop reports to assist with analysis of funding
prospects, trends, and outcomes.6. As a team member of the Trust,
demonstrate positive interpersonal skills that promote open
communication and respect for all positions, maintenance of
confidentiality and contribute to the success of the
organization.7. Perform other duties as
assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor s degree. Two-three years of
experience preferred. Previous experience in a development office
desirable. Strong administrative, writing, research, and
interpersonal skills. Well organized, detail-oriented, proactive,
and self-directed. Outgoing and poised personality. Experience with
events and catering. Knowledge of Oak Park/River Forest area
useful. Must be computer literate. Ability to travel to all Trust s
sites as required.ENVIRONMENT:Administrative offices are located in
a downtown historic building. Oak Park and Hyde Park Trust sites
are located in multi-level work areas not accessible to the
mobility impaired. Position requires frequent and regular computer
and phone use as well as travel to off-site locations. Workplace is
