Job Title: Help Desk Support Technician Location: Onsite
Elkhart, Indiana Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 Job Summary: The Help
Desk Support Technician provides front-line technical assistance to
users, responding to issues related to hardware, software, and
connectivity. The Help Desk Support Technician plays a crucial role
in ensuring user satisfaction and maintaining the efficient
operation of IT systems. Duties and Responsibilities: The Help Desk
Support Technician identifies, investigates, and resolves users'
problems with computer software and hardware. Fields support calls,
chat, email, and/or other communication from users. The Help Desk
Support Technician addresses inquiries involving software
programming, connectivity, printing, and more. The Help Desk
Support Technician consults with users to determine the steps and
procedures taken to identify and resolve technical issues. Applies
knowledge of computer systems to support and resolve user issues.
The Help Desk Support Technician often uses diagnostic tools and
software to troubleshoot problems. The Help Desk Support Technician
works collaboratively with the network administrator to identify
and troubleshoot networking issues. Guides users through
troubleshooting processes and provides clear, step-by-step
technical support. Collaborates with other technical staff to
investigate and resolve complex or escalated problems. The Help
Desk Support Technician may also consult with programmers to
address software errors or suggest improvements. Coordinates with
software or hardware vendors when service or replacement is
necessary. Maintains awareness of current technology trends to
continuously improve support services. The Help Desk Support
Technician is expected to stay updated on new tools and techniques.
Performs other job-related duties as required to support the help
desk function. The Help Desk Support Technician ensures consistent
service delivery and technical excellence. Required Skills and
Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities. A professional
and friendly telephone manner. Ability to explain technical issues
clearly to both technical and non-technical users. Solid analytical
and problem-solving capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office
Suite or related software. Ability to quickly learn and support a
range of computer systems and applications. Education and
Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related
field preferred. At least three years of experience in technical
