TAG has two ongoing digital transformations with platform modernization with a cloud-native migration that will empower an exciting digitalization of the dental industry with advances in 3D printing, scanning, AI, and much more.

As a Director of Software Engineering, you will join one of our new teams focused on a core business domain. You will lead developers to modernize legacy systems by developing new software and services using cloud-native GCP technologies, using Microsoft .NET (Core/6) stack on Kubernetes.

We aim to build a multi-region active-active platform utilizing Kubernetes and open-source software to support our ever-increasing footprint and patients. We're embracing micro-services and building development teams behind core business domains. We're investing in DevOps so our developers can deploy code as needed via automated pipelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a development team in the design, implementation, and testing of enterprise applications
  • Planning and roadmap design
  • Reviewing design and code to ensure code quality
  • Working with business stakeholders and product owners for business requirements gathering and clarification
  • Designing/developing new and enhancing existing software applications and backend services using Microsoft .NET 6 technologies
  • Contribute new ideas to improve software practices and processes
  • Gain an understanding of the domain elements of dental management and business models.
  • Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
  • Ensure the quality of the built software via automated unit/integration tests
  • Working in Agile environment with other developers, software architects, QA analysts, and product managers.
  • Be dependable; deliver individual and team outcomes on time and within the expectations of the role.
  • About 70% of hands-on coding & application design

    Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 15+ years of software development experience working in complex environments (or work experience equivalent).
    • Strong technical and team management experience
    • Strong knowledge and experience of .NET Core, C#
    • Strong technical and team leadership
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficient in the design of RESTful APIs, you understand how CRUD maps to APIs and can stand by critical principles such as HTTP verbs and code.
    • Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with distributed and microservice application architectures
    • Established experience in upgrading the company's technology stack to the next generation
    • Experience with SQL and complex stored procedures
    • Clear insights into the industry trends and latest technologies
    • Strong understanding of unit testing principles and approaches
    • Strong understanding of LINQ syntax and ORMs (EF Core preferable)
    • Strong understanding of source code control tools (Gitlab) and branching model
    • Experience using project management tools like Atlassian JIRA

      Nice to have:
      • Experience with NoSQL databases
      • Experienced with building out and maintaining metrics, alarms, and monitoring of services.
      • Experience in xUnit/nUnit frameworks
      • Experience with OAuth or OpenID Connect protocols

        Salary: $200,000 - 270,000 + 25% Performance bonus
