Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Illinois RN License
required - Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience -
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - ACLS (Advanced
Cardiovascular Life Support) certification - PALS (Pediatric
Advanced Life Support) certification - NIHSS (National Institutes
of Health Stroke Scale) certification - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core
Course) or TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist) certification ER RN
Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care in the Emergency
Room, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with
interdisciplinary healthcare teams - Administer medications and
treatments according to nursing standards, hospital policies, and
Illinois state laws - Document patient care accurately and timely
in accordance with ER protocols - Perform patient assessments,
develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes -
Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge
instructions - Participate in unit-based performance improvement
and professional development activities - Support other clinical
units as needed and apply critical thinking to ensure patient
safety - Engage in peer review and continuous nursing education
