Major Responsibilities:
- Produces radiographs of technical quality to demonstrate
primarily the peripheral, viscera, and neurovascular system, with
occasional work in non-vascular imaging performed in the Special
Procedure Laboratory.
- - - - -1)Selects, implements, and modifies exam technical
factors to produce diagnostic radiographs, utilizing knowledge of
anatomy, physiology, and radiographic technology.
- - - - -2)demonstrates technical skill as a scrub
technologist.
- - - - -3)* performs technical function pertaining to, and stays
abreast of, equipment, tray preparation, and contrast media.
- - - - -4)demonstrates skills in the operation of
equipment.
- - - - -5)perform scout film.
- - - - -6)set-up, program, operate film changer.
- - - - -7)set-up, program, operate digital imaging
computer.
- - - - -8)provide a clean procedure environment to ensure that
procedures are performed in an an aseptic fashion.
- Assists credentialed radiologists in imaging and
revascularization procedures.
- - - - -1)works with credentialed radiologists in angiography
and revascularization procedures; uses skill in proper use of
procedural supplies to maintain successful revascularization.
- - - - -2)provides technical support to credentialed
angiographers in implementation of vanguard technologies, i.e.
atherectomy, stent placements, new devices.
- - - - -3)understands atherosclerotic disease process, and
conveys understanding to other care givers as required; uses
knowledge to enhance technical performance.
- - - - -4)selects, implements, and modifies exam technical
factors to produce diagnostic radiographs, utilizing knowledge of
anatomy, physiology, and radiologic technology.
- - - - -5)understands bleeding factors and the risks that may
arise when a patient is treated with angioplasty, atherectomy, or
thrombolytic agents, and conveys understanding to other care givers
as required; uses knowledge to enhance technical performance.
- Performs technical function pertaining to, and stays abreast
of, equipment, tray preparation, and contrast media.
- - - - -1)prepares equipment, tray preparation, and contrast
media for ordered exams.
- - - - -2)selects and opens supplies in a fashion to ensure
prompt patient care and cost containment.
- - - - -3)assist in inventory management of the area, using
knowledge of on-site inventory and availability lags of necessary
supply items.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of laboratory
records to assure the excellence of care afforded.
- - - - -1)verifies appropriateness of patient exam, completeness
of consent forms, presence of lab results, to provide proper
quality management.
- - - - -2)places, processes, and completes requisitions, to
ensure appropriate patient care and accuracy of patient
billing.
- - - - -3)records accurately patient data using RIS/HIS System
for demographic marketing, film marking, to protect the integrity
and wholeness of the patient record.
- Cooperates as a team player with nursing unit staff, other
allied health care professionals and physicians, to promote the
efficiency and quality of care provided by the Special Procedure
Service.
- - - - -1)functions in patient emergencies in efficient and
competent manner, assists the Code Team as needed in stabilizing
the patient, using knowledge of where supplies are kept in the
Special Procedures Laboratory to assure that supply needs are met
in emergencies.
- - - - -2)assists in scheduling patients with interface of
nursing unit personnel and angiographers.
- - - - -3)instructs patients, alleviates fears regarding exams,
working with the team to provide an optimal patient
experience.
- - - - -4)assists in performance of daily quality control
testing of equipment, verifies function at time of testing, reports
problems to Coordinator.
- - - - -5)selects and opens supplies in a fashion to ensure
prompt patient care and cost containment.
- - - - -6)prepares equipment, angiographic trays, patient
records, and contrast medial for ordered exams.
- - - - -7)assist in inventory management of the area, using
knowledge of on-site inventory and availability lags of necessary
supply items.
- - - - -8)provides personal flexibility to the needs of the
patient, providing as requested procedure support, and timely
on-call response.Education/Experience Required:
- -Graduate of AMA approved -School of Radiologic Technology.
-ARRT Registration. -Knowledge /sterile technique. -Must be able to
recognize need and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients
treated, i.e. understand child growth and development, normal
patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging;
prior experience with various age groups is preferred. -1 hour
annually in stroke care.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- -Proficient in the operation of basic angiographic. -Basic
computer skills preferred.
- -ARRT Registry -CPR Certification -IDNS LicensePhysicial
Requirements and Working Conditions:
- -Able to respond to request to work on short notice. -Flexible
in starting times to meet demand. -Willing to work overtime as
requested. -Pregnancy precludes fluoro work patients. Competent
Level Qualifications -Must be able to effectively communicate and
work well with other staff. -Advance knowledge of anatomy,
radiographic equipment, vascular and interventional
procedures.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact
the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting
requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when
patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling
equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other
associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement
situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.This job
