rate : $33.08–$42/hour Overview We are seeking an experienced
Facilities / HVAC Technician to support operations within a clean,
climate- and humidity-controlled manufacturing facility in Buffalo
Grove, IL. This role is responsible for the maintenance,
troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC
systems, with a strong focus on rooftop units (RTUs) and facility
infrastructure. This is a hands-on, floor-based position ideal for
an HVAC professional with experience in industrial or manufacturing
environments. Residential-only HVAC backgrounds will not be
considered. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance,
troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC
systems, including rooftop units (RTUs). Diagnose complex
mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize
downtime. Inspect facilities and prioritize repairs, improvements,
and preventive maintenance activities. Read and interpret work
orders, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Replace
defective components, wiring, and mechanical parts; perform system
upgrades and modifications as needed. Ensure plumbing, water,
sewer, electrical, mechanical, and emergency backup systems remain
fully operational. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance
activities and completed work. Follow all safety procedures and
regulatory requirements; identify and report unsafe conditions.
Support facility projects, equipment setups, and special events as
assigned. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and in
accordance with company procedures. Required Qualifications Proven
experience in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial or
industrial HVAC systems within a manufacturing or industrial
facility. Strong hands-on experience with rooftop units (RTUs) and
commercial HVAC equipment. Working knowledge of compressors,
condensers, evaporators, controls, and electrical systems. Ability
to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and
technical documentation. Experience performing preventive
maintenance and system optimization. Strong problem-solving skills
and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage
multiple priorities effectively. Valid driver’s license required.
