Contribute: This position is responsible for performing complex and
diversified accounting assignments related to examining, analyzing,
and verifying all data pertinent to general ledger accounts. You
must have the ability to maintain account ledgers, prepare required
reports, account reconciliations and statements for management
while also understanding considerable variation, complexity, and
diversification of procedure. In addition, you are expected to work
in a professional manner under established company and department
guidelines. Job Duties: Perform accounting and financial analysis
services directly and predominantly relating to the Milwaukee
location activity and indirectly for Badger Meter subsidiaries as
needed. Be responsible for posting all types of journal entries,
performing ledger maintenance, preparing various account analyses,
and completing a variety of audit work papers. Responsible for
monitoring daily cash activities, posting related journal entries,
and reconciling all bank accounts on a monthly basis. Have an
ongoing awareness of current developments in the accounting
profession and applicable government regulations. Assist the
Accounting Manager to formulate, implement, modify, and maintain
procedures, policies, and systems which ensure the accurate,
timely, verifiable, and efficient accumulation, recording,
balancing, reconciling, and reporting of financial data within the
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for the United
States. Provide assistance, as needed, to other Accounting
personnel in areas such as accounts payable, fixed assets, sales,
tax, invoicing, expense reports, customs and account analysis.
Responsible for monitoring closing activities to ensure a timely
and accurate financial closing per current Standard Operating
Procedures and Section 404 (SOX) requirements. Education and
Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
required 3 years of related professional experience in a
medium-sized manufacturing environment desired Qualifications:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word required
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required CPA (Certified
Public Accounting) preferred Intermediate knowledge of ERP systems
preferred Knowledge of accounting theory and related procedures
together with a high degree of accuracy, aptitude for detail, sound
judgment and analytical skills required Competencies: Work
