Job Description Job Description Corporate America Family Credit Union Job Description Position Title: Staff Accountant Reports To: Assistant Controller Grade Level: 7 Full Salary Range: $20.70 - $31.05 Hiring Salary Range: $20.70 - $25.87 Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for accurately posting journal entries, including, but not limited to payroll, insurance, loan participations, and fixed assets; maintaining accounting records and files, and preparing various accounting reports as required. Perform tasks necessary to balance and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts, maintain and reconcile daily cash accounts, and manage other accounting-related duties. Duties must be accomplished in compliance with federal and state laws and in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures and with constant attention to CAFCU’s creed, vision, mission and goals. Duties and Responsibilities: Review daily cash balances to prepare and distribute daily cash liquidity monitoring. Analyze and reconcile general ledger for various accounts as assigned. Research and adjust all open items, cash imbalances, daily branch deposits and variances as necessary. Prepare various journal entries and verify that all other journal vouchers and cash received have been properly balanced and authorized. Reconcile loans monthly. Generate a variety of monthly branch reports as requested by management. Review and analyze financial data. Generate a variety of reports and statements as requested by management. Assemble and prepare economic analysis for review in the asset liability management process. Assemble, prepare, and report on CECL qualitative domestic and international economic factors which may directly or indirectly influence asset quality trends. Inform departmental management of economic indicators that may impact the business model include Federal Open Market Policy and interest rate changes. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports on a regular basis. Post investment interest checks. Post and reconcile the subsidiary records for the accrued income from investments and loans. Manage and balance all prepaid expense and fixed asset items in the depreciation program. Post first mortgage fees. Assist with quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Report. Cross-train and be a backup on other departmental functions as necessary. Create, maintain, and update procedures as necessary. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Accounting, economics, or finance degree required and/or Three to five years of financial institution with knowledge of member service, accounting, and operational aspects of credit union operations.
